A large number of black, yellow and white fungus infections have been reported among Covid-19 survivors in India, raising fears of an "epidemic within a pandemic" in a country affected by a deadly second wave of coronavirus, the millions of people affected by people.
More than 11,000 cases of the black fungus, scientifically known as mucormycosis, have been reported in India, including 600 in the capital, Delhi.
Although there is still no official public death toll, local media have recorded more than 250 deaths from the black fungus, according to the Associated Press.

Two other types of infections have also appeared in patients recovered from COVID-19, the white fungus or candidiasis and the yellow fungus, which belongs to the mucormycosis family.
